The molecular weight of Collagen (Catalog Number C4243).

To whom it may concern, The collagen (C4243) we bought this year was examined by HPLC (Agilent 1260 Infinity Series) for further experiment. Our HPLC results obtained the molecular weight (MW) of collagen about 600kDa.

Where the collagen was carried by the buffer of pH2 HCl in HPLC. Based on the "Product Information" from Sigma-Aldrich: "This product is ..., and contains a high monomer content. It is supplied as an ~3 mg/ml (0.3%) aqueous solution in 0.01 M HCl (pH ~2.0).", In order to confirm our measurement results, could Sigma-Aldrich Co.

provide us the information and spectral data which display the "molecular weight" and "amino sequence" of the monomer collagen C4243 ? Thank you very much in advance Best regards Yin-Jen Shiu Post Doctoral fellow National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC), Taiwan
